The Reason You Shouldn't Think About How To Improve Your Best Bedside Cot

The Best Bedside Cot

The cribs are designed to be put by your bed to make it easier to reach your baby at 3am for night feeds and nappy changes. They are also an excellent alternative to a Moses Basket.

Safe sleep tips from The Lullaby Trust and NHS recommends babies sleep in a cot, away from your bed in order to avoid the risk of suffocation or overheating. This cosy option was a favourite by our mom testers. It glides in a motion that helps calm babies back to sleep.

1. Joie Roomie Glide

The Roomie Glide bedside cot is an innovative product by English brand Joie. It is designed to let you sleep with your partner without sharing the bed. It has an easy glide that glides smoothly and gently to ease your baby to sleep without you needing to leave the bed. A glide lock is included that locks the glide in place when your child has fallen asleep. There are also safety straps that secure it to your bed, and retractable wheels that let you move it as you wish to.

The softly padded sides, double-mesh window, and the curved cocoon shape enhance the comfort of your child sleeper. It is also easy to assemble and disassemble, making it perfect for travel and packing. The cot comes with a machine-washable mattress cover that is easy to clean. Additional cotton sheets are available in two-packs.

Roanna loved the cotbed and deemed it "a high quality buy". She also loved the feeling that the gliding motion was soft, which helped her fall to sleep. She also found the design to be elegant and said it would look great in most bedroom decors. However, she did point out that although it's great for newborns, once they're six months old, you'll require an extra large cot.

She also loved the feature that the side panel slide can be removed with one hand, making it easy to answer those inevitable wake-up calls to feed or comfort little ones from the comfort of her own bed. The Roomie Glide also has 11 height settings, which means it can be adjusted to fit almost every size bed. There are also straps and clips that secure it.

Parents who have used it have stated that the safety catch on the top bar can be loud when removed. This could wake your baby. The mattress and fabric can be removed and washed by hand. The crib is also easy to assemble.

5. Clair de Lune

The third movement of the 1890 Suite bergamasque by Claude Debussy "Clair deLune," (French: moonlight), is based on Paul verlaine's wistful poetry and gives a dreamy feeling of a sun-drenched Italian small town. It is also an ideal fit into Twilight the film, where Edward Cullen has it on his stereo as he woos Bella and gazes at her with that romantic gaze. It's a melodramatic love story for sure but the music is great.

Mike Mills adapted this piece for his 2009 film C'mon C'mon. In the film, the piece isn't played by a pianist but by the San Francisco Saxophone Quartet.
